      Kos Taxis   (24 hours service)  
     
      Taxis can usually be flagged down in the street if the light on the roof is illuminated.  
      Just ask the reception at the accommodation you are staying at to call you one.  
      The telephone number for the taxi station is 22420 22777 and 22420 23333 that will send  
      a taxi a small charge. There is a minimum "flagfall" charge, then a charge for the  
      distance travelled. Small additional charges are made for luggage and telephone  
      reservations, otherwise the account is shown on the meter. Taxi drivers do not expect  
      to be tipped, but will accept gratuities.

      Kos Buses  
     
      Bus stops are green in color and are usually found on the main roads. Timetables can  
      generally be found at the bus stop. Although the buses are ideal for short journeys, during  
      during the hot summer months they can become very busy, with limited seating space  
      and no air-conditioning.

      Kos Bicycles  
        
      The fringes of the island are flat and ideal for cycling and discovering an abundance of   
      of sandy beaches which are scattered along the coast. There are plenty of bicycle rentals  
      around the island.  
     
      Kos Mopeds  
     
      Hiring a moped is a good way of seeing the local area and is a popular form of transport.  
      They can be hired from various outlets around Kos. Extra care should be taken on the   
      busy main roads and helmets should always be worn.
